TR19 Environmental issues
The business idea:
The main question that the TR19 working group
handles is, "How can the environment bear the effects of electronics and its
production?" Important environmental issues in electronics consider, for example,
different material properties, the effects of production and the product life
cycle. Also, the environmental management systems and recycling procedures are
part of the subjects in concern.
Functioning forms:
Group TR19 operates through seminars, group works
and the exchange of knowledge. Co-operation in the working group offers an excellent
view on the activities that the Finnish electronics industry has in the field of
environmental issues. Especially group work as the form of co-operation enable fast
communication and sharing of ideas. In addition, a national network is formed between
the experts working with environmental issues in electronics and the knowledge of
international research projects can be shared throughout the whole network.
By operating in the group TR19, companies can benchmark their environmental development
activities to the ones of other companies. Also, KOTEL seminars and group work reports
offer one way to share information about the environmental activities companies have
in Finland in the field of electronics.
