Message filters are a utility to help you store and organize messages automatically. They are very helpful and easy to use.
To setup a message filter, go to any incoming message container and click on the "Message Filters.." box. There you will be presented with a screen that needs some input:
A descriptive title
The string to search for; this may be an
email address if for example Any address field
is selected, say for example that you want to
keep all communication from a certain client
in a separate folder, simply create that folder,
and add a message filter which specifies the
@-character and the hostname (@company.com).
This string search is case insensitive.
This specifies what headers will be searched to find a match for the search string.
To and Cc are address fields
Any address field will match To or Cc
Priority will match on the priority, which may be either low, medium or high.
Match any header will make the application
search through all the headers for a match,
use this for example if you want to
organize all replies into a folder, using
the search string re:
and the match any
header option. Please note that using the
match any header option may give unexpected
results.
